DISNEYLAND SURPRISE!!

Finally, the second part of Josie's birthday could happen. Josie said that she really wanted to go to Disneyland for her birthday or a trip to Missouri to see her cousins. Financially, I knew the trip was not going to happen or Disneyland could not either.  So, I asked Makenzye to ask her friend Trinity (they meet in dance class at 4 years old and they remain close) if she could sign Makenzye and Josie in one day soon. So, the date was set and Josie had no idea. We were not going to tell her anything until we were driving there. As it got closer, we decided to tell her that Makenzye was going to take her hiking. She was so excited to hang out with Makenzye for the day.

She even asked me to put her hair in a ponytail....her Josie Love wanted me to do her hair. She said it was getting long and it was going to be hot. She has chosen to grow it out long. She hates brushing her hair and hates it even more when someone else does it. Has always been a constant struggles with her. Her scalp is so sensitive. As long as she brushes it out well on her own...I don't touch it. Now that she is also growing out her bangs, I help some with the clips to pull them out of her face! It has definitely been one of those pick your battle things. So many other things to work on....hair was the least of my problems!

Back to the surprise now!!!
As we were driving, "to the hiking place" Josie commented " Wow, it is far, even past Disneyland"! We were not sure if she would know we were going that direction but she did, she is very observant.  So, Makenzye started talking to her about Disneyland and how maybe during Christmas break we could try to go. Josie said, YES! she wanted to.  It was really hard for me not to smile, I was watching her face in the rear view mirror.  She was talking about how exciting it would be....rides she wanted to go on and what she remembers from the last time she was there...about 4 years ago.  Then Makenzye asks her is she would want to go today.....(she is in shock thinking Makenzye is just talking about it being a good idea to go...until I say in the background that we were lying to her about going hiking that it sinks in)

She was so excited to be there!!

Josie day at Disneyland with Makenzye, Trinity and Cathleen!
In the back row behind Makenzye and Josie are Trinity and her mom Cathleen. Josie had a great time and really enjoyed having them there too!
