My dear friend, Marlene, lost her battle with cancer in June. It has been hard for me, even knowing she was sick. I wrote this poem to help me through.
Marlene
We had such good times,
We “chilled” many a day.
I loved every minute,
More than I can say.
Played video games, watched movies,
And sometimes out to eat.
Hanging with you anywhere,
Was such a joyous treat.
With your positive attitude,
No matter what was wrong.
Your example gave me strength,
To always carry on.
Your spirit was so giving,
I was honored to call you friend.
It is just a separation,
I’m so glad it is not the end!
Even though I am still hurting,
There is no need to cry.
For we will get to “chill” again,
In the big and bright blue sky!
I love ya and miss you, Marlene! Looking forward to seeing you again!

What a wonderful tribute to Marlene! She was such a wonderful person and I loved her positive attitude too. That was a very touching poem you wrote about her...you and your family are so talented!
