Reading is Fun!

Josie loves for me to read to her, even books with no pictures. Her and I have started to read chapter books together. The first one we read was "James and the Giant Peach". She loved it. Once we were done I got the movie from the library. It was fun to compare how they were different and the same. We are now reading "Ramona the Brave." She is excited about recognizing words she now knows. She looks for words that I say and wants to follow along were I am reading. She constantly ask questions while we read...she really is a great big sponge. She wants to know EVERYTHING!
(One time Makenzye was reading one of her books and Josie was curious what she was reading so she asked her what it was and could she read to her. So, she climbed into Makenzye's lap and listened as she read to her. In about 10 minutes Josie had fallen asleep. It was beautiful.)I will go look for that picture...

Love it! Such great books. I can't wait to read to my daughter. My son loves to be read to as well, but I just have this feeling that my girl will love it even more!

Hi Josie--We love Ramona books! Our favorite is Ramona the Pest--we like how Ramona goes "boing!" to Susan's curls. We always laugh when she does that.

Milly-Molly-Mandy is a book you would really really like! We read from it all the time. She has the nicest adventures in her little village.

We are reading Harriet the Spy right now--you will probably enjoy that book when you get a little bit bigger. Harriet writes very unkind things about people in her notebook, and we predict that she will get into a lot of trouble for being unkind. Every time she writes something Emily, Megan, and Sandy put their hands over their eyes and say, "Oh no! She should be NICE!"

We agree that reading is so fun!
