Sleep Study

When I was pregnant with Makenzye I worried about waking up at night because I was such a heavy sleeper. Once I was asleep I was out till morning. I tossed a lot in my sleep but would never remember doing it.  I was afraid I would not hear her cry even in our room. It was no problem, I seemed to wake up just fine. It wasn't probably right when she cried but soon after. Tim was and still is much lighter sleeper. Even now when Tim's alarm goes off he turns it off before I even hear it. Well, for the last year and a half I have been waking up a lot. Always able to go back to sleep pretty fast, but still waking a lot. My legs would always bother me when I was trying to sleep. Plus, I was still tired after getting 8 hours of sleep. I also have been having some memory loss too, which has been very frustrating!  I have been anemic before and it felt different then that. Then the last few months I was waking up catching my breath and Tim said I was snoring pretty bad. I finally made the call and got the sleep study set up!

It is official, I have Sleep Apnea. Boo! I now use a C-Pap machine at night while I sleep.

First I tested at a sleep center for two nights in a row. The first night, I had so many wires monitoring my brain, breathing, my heart, leg muscles, how much movement, if I open my mouth, plus how many times I wake up. I didn't do well at all. You would think all the wires would get in the way but they didn't. Was able to move around a lot. My muscle legs spasm a lot when I sleep. Possible Restless Legs Syndrome. I was so tired the next day and I couldn't have a nap all day or any sodas to help me through the day. Had to do one more test that night.
The top of my head

The next night I was back with all the wires, plus add on the Cpap machine!

First night using the machine at home!
First couple of nights were hard to get used to...I can sleep on my back or side but and don't move much at all anymore. Feel I'm sleeping better!! It has been 9 months and I feel that it definitely works!

Whoa! That's a big deal! I'm sure glad you're sleeping better now.

I have restless legs . . . ugh! it's dreadfully annoying. Magnesium helps, though.

I have restless legs too! They said they moved a lot during the study. I eat bananas, it helped with legs cramps when I was pregnant and it helps me now to relax.
