Josie and I went with CHEP to Knott's Berry Farm. It was a toured field trip of some of the history of California. It was for all 4th graders because they have been studying California this year. They would talk to the kids about something, then the kids would have to answer questions after riding the ride or looking in museums. They also got to pan for gold! We only went to specific areas. Josie was kinda bummed they didn't get to ride more!
First they rode the Pony Express, with Aly, then talked about what it was.

Josie was supposed to touch it and tell everyone if it was still hot after he cooled in down in water. She was supposed to do that little dance if it was cooled down.
They sat in the desks of a one room school and were told how they worked back then.
They sat in a replica of a old theater and he told a couple of stories about it.
They learned what the pioneers could or couldn't take when they moved. It had to all fit in this wagon.

During lunch Josie found this caterpillar on the cement walkway so picked it up and put it in the dirt under a bush.
