Birthdays!!

Savannah is now 18 and loving it. She is finishing up her senior year with the independent study program through the school district. It has been wonderful for her. I know she only has 5 more months, but really it was the right thing for her now. Everything for it just seemed to fall into place. She too misses a lot of school because of health problems. She is very social so we thought it wouldn't work for her. But see now we should have done it sooner. Threatening letters for her absences too! She is also really excited to take her test to get her Drivers Permit. She continues to pursue her love for photography and musical theater. She also loves to come to the nursery at church every week and help with the kids. She is great with them.

Here are her new independent study books and ID for the units she is taking now. Once these are finished she will have English4B and a Child Development/ Psychology Class and then will be finished!! Probably before May.

At a recent church event parents got up and said some things about their daughters.
They asked us to start out by saying...Our daughter lets her light shine by.....so this is what Tim and I came up with...I was the only one who could be there so I read it out loud or attempted to.....being courageous in her actions, thoughtful of the feelings of others and has a great passion for life and living it to the fullest. She has a beautiful smile that can't stop that light from shining. We are so proud of her.
Right before the event that night (after Savannah had already been out of school for 10 days) disaster broke out! Her friends at school were texting asking why she was talking crap about them...someone had told them that she was. Wouldn't say who! She doesn't know why all this happened...she never said those things. So she told them that she is sorry they don't believe her, could they just be done with it. They seemed to leave her alone...then one of them called her and said some pretty awful things...it was really horrible. We blocked them all from her phone and Addison deleted them from her FB after we left. She has no idea why! Both her and I were crying and we were leaving in 10 minutes. We promised to go so we headed out. I was so angry and was thinking so many things. I wanted to hate them all. Trying to think of ways to confront them meanly and it being OK. It was good we still went. I cried through the whole program and had to leave to regain my composure a few times. Then when everyone started to sing one of my favorite songs as a young women....I didn't want to hear it because it wouldn't let the hate linger in my heart. My kids are one of the things that I am very passionate about. I want everyone to see all I see in them and don't always understand when they don't. It makes me furious. Then when parents started going up to talk about their daughter it started the tears again...they were all so beautiful. It is the desire of every parent for all to see how special there daughters are. Then it was my turn...I made it halfway before I started the tears again. I love Savannah so much and it rips my heart that not everyone sees what I see in her. I handed her a rose (they also asked us to do this) and kissed the top of her head. She was crying too! We both left to regain our composure! She said she heard nothing I had said because she was concentrating so hard on not crying again. So she read it once we were home. It was a very emotional night for us! I'm sure many thought we were fighting. We were not!

Wearing her birthday hat!

Savannah got a full body massage on her birthday!  She loved it!  Ashley came to our home and brought everything. She is in Westminster, CA. Email her!!  amchapple11@gmail.com

Ours birthdays are 3 days apart so we usually go out together. Of course we went for SUSHI. We both LOVE it! Really it is pretty amazing! We also got to go to El Torito for FREE with their birthday club! Another one of our favorites!

Dina literally hanging out in the chair as we have our lunch!

Makenzye took both Savannah and I out to dinner for our birthdays! We went to Red Robin! We took a picture outside after our meal!  I enjoyed dinner with my two adults daughters! Weird but cool! :) I could not be prouder of both of them!!

Alex and Candise took Savannah out on her birthday. They have been friends since we moved here 10 years ago!

I found a picture of them when they were younger...I'm guessing they were 10 or 11 years old.

The Melvin's made her a cake!

Her requested birthday dinner was Monte Cristos!! Yum!

Josie made Savannah and I birthday cards!

Tim got me this necklace (I love it) that we ordered from a friend on Facebook called Domestic Flair. She makes lots of  cute stuff. Check her out!

Tim and I got a treat together."We make our differences work"!!!  It was our first time at both places! Can you guess which one was mine? :)
.

I received cards and a singing phone call from my nieces and nephews! I love being an Aunt! The singing phone calls are a tradition in my family. We call and all sing to one another!! I love this tradition!! Even my parents sang to me! :) The best!!!
