Josie got a kid's cookbook for Christmas. She has always loved helping me in the kitchen since she was 2. She loves to read the recipes and follow them. I finally found some alphabet pasta so she could make the alphabet chicken soup recipe. She was so excited. She was a little impatient with waiting. She wanted it done faster. Putting on simmer and stirring occasionally was hard for her. "Is it ready?" she would say after each stirring. "No, I would say.""Listen for the timer to stir again." The book even explains all the cooking terms, which is wonderful. She ate a bowl of it and loved it. She is ready for her next recipe in her new cookbook. I took the rest of the soup to Savannah and Addison at their rehearsal break and they loved it too. She did a great job.
Cutting the carrots and celery...
sauteing them...
posing while stirring...
the alphabet pasta...
and the finished soup!
Yummy!

So fun for her! And you're a great mom to patiently teach her.
